Remember that scene in the movie version of Bridget Jones’ Diary where Bridget, played by Renée Zellweger, is getting intimate with her playboy boss (Hugh Grant) and he remarks on her huge plain panties, joking that he’s wearing similar ones? It’s a classic scene that’s hysterical to watch (see it here), but not so fun to experience in real life. I, like most women around the world, loved Bridget Jones. I rooted for her and cheered when she and Mark Darcy walked off into the sunset together but, really, there’s no excuse for getting caught in boring underwear. It’s not an issue of size, mind you. The movie played up the tent-like bloomers for comic effect but Bridget and Mark were fine with her curves, including her “wobbly bits.” What I’m talking about is appreciating the role panties play in a woman’s wardrobe and, I’ll venture to say, her overall outlook. I’m not saying a beautiful panty will solve your problems but I feel very strongly that they contribute to a positive frame of mind like any piece of clothing can. Just as color is known to affect one’s mood, a pretty panty with a delicate detail in a new shade you’ve never tried can freshen up your attitude. Witness the cute scene in the movie “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle” where Cameron Diaz gleefully shakes her booty clad in Underoo-style bottoms. Her glowing smile as she wiggles in front of the mirror (alone, I might add) is an infectious moment of girly celebration. Her character was happy to be alive and took great pleasure in the simplest of moments. That, my friends, is the power of a cute panty. For this reason, Pink Slip is having a special Panty Week and we’re offering a great deal for you to stock up on fresh styles that will look good, feel good and put a smile on your face. Here are just a few options I’d like to suggest from some of my favorite brands.
Hanky Panky thongs
No discussion of cute bottoms is complete without mentioning Hanky Panky, the brand known for comfort and flattering every figure. For 25 years, the Hanky Panky thong has been a staple in women’s underwear wardrobes with an amazingly broad range of rises, fabrics, prints and colors to fit any day or mood. The colors alone remind me of delicious sherbert flavors. They all look so good, you can’t own just one.
Cosabella Cutie thong
One of my favorite Italian brands, Cosabella, makes any woman feel like a Bond girl in their Cutie thong. It’s incredibly comfortable in an ultrasoft, wide stretch lace with a seamless crotch that lays softly on the inside thigh. Molto bella, indeed!
Mary Green boy short
If thongs are not your thing, the boy short is a great alternative. I highly recommend the cotton hip hugger boy short by Mary Green. This elegant silhouette plays nicely with contrast by combining color with scalloped lace for a very artistic and feminine look. Treat yourself to several of the brand’s cute, sexy and fun colors.
Cosabella Hottie boy short
Somewhere between a thong and a boy short lies Cosabella’s Hottie, a lowrider boy short in a flirty Brazilian cut. It features scallop edges and reveals a bit more cheek for an extra sexy fit that flatters all body types. What else would you expect from Cosabella?
Eberjey Delirious French Brief
If you love romantic sheer underwear you can’t go wrong with the Delirious French Brief by Eberjey. This dainty panty is sweetly sexy in a decorative pointelle mesh with delicate edging at the waist and legs. In a hip hugger silhouette with a “barely there” feel, it’s bound to put a smile on your face.
